Barrel saunas delivered to York
Flat vale, cold winds
York sits in a flat vale where winter winds are brisk and frost is common. A barrel sauna turns a cold evening into the best part of the week.
The base is easy on flat ground: slabs on compacted gravel.
Historic city, ordinary gardens
Within the walls space is tight, but the suburbs of Haxby and Copmanthorpe have standard family gardens. Villages of the Wolds and the Vale offer larger plots, perfect for a 3 m barrel.
Measure the passage from the street to the garden before ordering.
Delivery and assembly in York
The kit comes by lorry with a tail-lift. Allow 4 to 6 weeks for manufacture and about a week for delivery. Narrow historic streets may limit access; tell us your address. Two adults assemble in about two days, or our crew does it from £990.
Prices exclude UK VAT; import VAT and any customs charges are paid by the buyer on delivery.
Practical details for York gardens
York gardens are often small and walled, with older houses that have side passages rather than a wide driveway. Measure the narrowest point and the height of any arch or gate.
The kit consists of curved staves, door, benches and fittings, all pre-fitted at the factory. They are carried in as separate pieces, then assembled in the garden. This is why the barrel works in places where a ready-made cabin would not.
In a flood-prone area, raise the base further and ask us how.
Wood, weather and Yorkshire habits
Yorkshire folk are practical, so here is the practical summary: stack seasoned logs under cover, check the flue before each winter, treat the outside once a year and open the vents after every session. Do those four things and the cabin will look after you for years.
Conservation
Much of central York is a conservation area, so ask City of York Council before ordering.
Questions
Do you deliver to Malton and Pocklington?
Yes, across North and East Yorkshire. We check access to your kerb or drive first.
Can the lorry reach a street inside the city walls?
Probably not. We would agree a nearby drop-off point and you would carry the parts the final stretch.
Is a flood-prone garden suitable?
Raise the base further above the ground and ask us about options. Check flood advice with the council.
